On March 08-10-2018, ESMID Workshop on Migrants Health was conducted on Crown Plaza Hotel. This workshop is organized by Ministry of Health Oman in collaboration with the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and the East Mediterranean Office of World Health Organization.

The objective of the workshop are to highlight the initiatives to monitor migrant health, prevent and control infectious diseases in migrants in GCC and EMRO, to discuss the impact of migrants on the health systems of the hosting countries esp. for vaccine preventable diseases, importation of communicable diseases and AMR, and to discuss the role and impact of migrants on the elimination programs for TB, Malaria, HIV and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
